This book was much better than the first。 I feel like her writing improved by so much when she wrote this one， and the world and plot are way more developed。 The characters in this book are insanely better than the first。

Well。 I didn’t love ACOTAR。 Like enough I almost didn’t bother reading this one。 It took me a couple of years， a lot of nagging from my BFF， and a few TikTok creators I trusted to get me into it。 Hoooooooo boy， am I glad！ Definitely better than the first book。 By miles。 Read it。

Expansion of magic system but definitely could have used better descriptions of painting， magical gifts。 Not enough description to accurately visualize what is going on and her magical abilities， which is then difficulty to read passages where she jumps from struggling with magic to doing advanced things。 Some sections of pacing are weird and we miss relationship building points with all characters that are written off in 1-3 sentences and spend too much time on irrelevant events。 Time passing i Expansion of magic system but definitely could have used better descriptions of painting， magical gifts。 Not enough description to accurately visualize what is going on and her magical abilities， which is then difficulty to read passages where she jumps from struggling with magic to doing advanced things。 Some sections of pacing are weird and we miss relationship building points with all characters that are written off in 1-3 sentences and spend too much time on irrelevant events。 Time passing in weird ways combined with missing out on those interactions fails to help reader understand the deep connection she feels to the Night Court as family。 It also would have helped reader see Feyre as powerful High Fae that could pull off the manipulation seen in next book。 Seemed a bit unrealistic the first read thru。 Could've had dramatic moments at end of book be more hard hitting with this relationship building。 。。。more

This second installment was much more action packed than the first book。 Characters and events you thought you knew/understand from the first book are completely flipped around in the second revealing a much different reality than at first believed- and I was a fan of this new view。 I appreciated that the romance， while still a significant theme， didn’t rule the story as it did in the first book。 It had more surprises and humor， introduced you to an amazing new land and cast of characters， and w This second installment was much more action packed than the first book。 Characters and events you thought you knew/understand from the first book are completely flipped around in the second revealing a much different reality than at first believed- and I was a fan of this new view。 I appreciated that the romance， while still a significant theme， didn’t rule the story as it did in the first book。 It had more surprises and humor， introduced you to an amazing new land and cast of characters， and was just overall more enjoyable （albeit a bit long）。 It does end on a cliffhanger- so I guess I will forced to continue the story of Feyre。。。 。。。more
